webP images handler

Hi team,
referring to this ticket https://github.com/adobe/aem-core-wcm-components/issues/2028, I read that the support for handling the webP images, by the image core component, was in plan to be released in the H2 2022.

Is there any news about it?

I am currently using the 2.19.0 version and the feature is not present yet, neither in the latest one 2.22.0.
