@robwormald if you get a chance, could you take a look at whether this implementation uses what you would consider to be practices the average Angular (4.x) app would?

I've rewritten what we were using in TodoMVC from scratch using angular-cli here. I didn't initially want to introduce any additional tooling we wouldn't consider baked in (e.g tree-shaking via Rollup).
