This is a starting, draft issue for incorporating the CLIN Journal into the ACL Anthology. It is a draft, because we have some uncertainties to address that I could not find on [this documentation page](https://aclanthology.org/info/contrib/). I am not a spokesperson for CLIN or CLINJ but I have taken this initiative after shared enthusiasm from the editors-in-chief.

CLIN (Computational Linguistics in the Netherlands) is a conference that has been going on since 1990 (as far as I can tell - before my time :-)). Proceedings (or rather, individual papers), were [published on the website](https://www.clinjournal.org/clinj/CLIN1). In 2011 the format changed to what it is now: work can be submitted to the conference as abstracts and are peer-reviewed. After the conference, speakers are invited to submit a long paper to the CLIN *Journal* (CLINJ), which is a recognized journal (ISSN: 2211-4009). So the concept of "proceedings" is a bit different, I assume. While there is a strong link between the conference and the journal (you can only submit to it if you have presented the work at the conference), it is indexed as a journal, ranked in VABB-SHW in Belgium.

So, the first question is whether this type of journal-linked-to-a-conference is eligible to be indexed in the Anthology? If so, we can continue with the process. Secondly, can all [the past volumes](https://www.clinjournal.org/clinj/issue/archive) (yearly, starting from 2011) also be indexed? As far as I can tell, the Journal ensures that the original authors maintain copyright, and only redistributes the work.
