Research direction

Start by reproducing the reported flow with brew install --cask xcodes, an Apple ID, and the Xcodes 3.0.2 app on Tahoe 26.2 (M3). Compare the failed universal installation with the M4 Apple Silicon entry and inspect the available Help Menu bug-report information. Done means Xcode 26.2 installs as Universal without the authentication warning.
