Description
I am running MacOS Sequoia, but I need to use Xcode 8. I know that you can easily use the command line to start Xcode 8, but doing that every time can get time-consuming. However, I have an idea: On download, the app detects that the user is using an older version of Xcode. The app requests whether the use would like to symlink Xcode or not. Then, the app symlinks the app. I am not very experienced in this kind of field, but I hope you understand what I am trying to state here. Thank you!

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by tracing the download flow and how installed Xcode versions are detected; done means the app clearly offers the symlink choice for older Xcode versions and handles the selected choice.
