Description

I have Xcodes installed and want to use it exclusively for updating Xcode.

I seem to still be getting the updates from Apple when there is a new version.

Could this be because that update was already available before I installed Xcodes?

What should I do if I have already installed a new version of Xcode and then see the Apple notification that there is an update for the same version?

Research direction

Start by reviewing how Xcodes handles Xcode installation and update notifications, then compare that behavior with the Apple notification described in the issue. The payload names no source files or tests, so the relevant entry point and a concrete completion check would need to be identified before implementation.
