Description
I’d like to propose adding a visual map to the wordpress.org/education section that highlights WPCC (WordPress Campus Connect), WPCredits, and Student Club activity by city.
The idea is to display the number of events organized in each city, similar to the existing Meetup map. This would make it easier to see the global reach and impact of WPCC, WPCredits, and Student Clubs at a glance. Similar to this - https://events.wordpress.org/ [screenshot attached]
Key points:
- Show a world map with city-level markers
- Display the number of events conducted per city
- Optional: allow filtering by WPCC vs WPCredits vs Student Club events
- Keep it consistent with the existing Meetup map UI/UX
This feature could help:
- Showcase community growth and activity
- Encourage student participation in active regions
- Identify areas with potential for new initiatives
Let me know if this aligns with current plans or if there’s an existing discussion around it.

Research direction
Start at the wordpress.org/education page and inspect the existing Meetup map UI, then compare it with events.wordpress.org. Determine how WPCC, WPCredits, and Student Club event data is represented and where city counts can be sourced. Done means the education page has a consistent world map with city event totals and the requested activity filters, if supported.
