Description

After submitting a quiz and receiving a failing grade, the system displays a message indicating the required passing score and provides a “Restart Quiz” button. However, when the quiz is restarted and completed again with correct answers, the grade is not updated and continues to display the previous score.

It is unclear whether this behaviour is an intended feature or a bug. Therefore, this feedback issue is created to validate the expected behaviour.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions (optional)

  1. Open any quiz with a required passing score of 100%. I have used "Meeting Structure: Running, Closing and Follow-up Quiz"
  2. Take the quiz and submit it with incorrect answers.
  3. Observe the result showing: Grade: 33.33% [Based on incorrect answers]
  4. Check the Message: “You must score at least 100% to pass this quiz. Your grade is 33.33%.”
  5. Click the “Restart Quiz” button.
  6. Retake the same quiz and submit it again, this time selecting all correct answers.
  7. View the quiz results after submission. In my case, it shows: Grade: 33.33% [Old results ]

Reason for Feedback:
It is unclear whether the “Restart Quiz” functionality is working as intended or if there is an issue with grade recalculation. This feedback is submitted to confirm and validate the expected behaviour.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the linked “Meeting Structure: Running, Closing and Follow-up Quiz” flow: submit a failing attempt, use “Restart Quiz,” then submit correct answers. Trace the restart and result-display flow to determine whether the grade should be recalculated; done means the expected behavior is confirmed and the reported old grade is either fixed or documented as intentional.
