Description
I don’t have a way to reproduce this, but it could, and i say could with a lot of hesitation, have something to do with unplugging a monitor, as it seems to have happened when i unplugged one ? When the random rotation through screens continued, all the subsequent screens are fine.
See below the background being upside-down, it is one of the entries of the background contest that wasn’t selected.

Research direction
No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by investigating background rotation while unplugging a monitor, using the linked image as the symptom reference; done means subsequent backgrounds remain correctly oriented after the display change.
