Research direction

Review related issues 5374, 4480, 5682, and 3256 first, then locate the UI dialogs that accept integer input. Compare their existing Hex and Decimal indicators and determine the shared scope for consolidation. Done means the relevant dialogs consistently show which input mode they accept.
