Research direction
Start by inspecting the pdb-ng refactor and the code path that loads PDB files from symbol servers. Reproduce the regression with a CAB-compressed PDB named pd_, then trace how decompression and symbol loading handle it. Done means pd_ files load again without breaking ordinary PDB support.
