Description

Keeping it short, would like to use spd-say and speech-dispatcher to provide narration as a part of a game on Linux. However, because of the sandboxing, spd-say isn't accessible, even if installed on the host system. I am aware of this method to work around that, but perhaps it would be best to include this service in the sandbox.

Please let me know if there's already other considerations for TTS/narration on Linux.

Research direction

Start with the linked SLR for game developers and investigate how sandboxed Steam applications currently reach host commands. The requested outcome is for a game in the Linux sandbox to access speech-dispatcher through spd-say without relying on the documented workaround.
