Description

  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: No

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Issue appeared after I updated to v3.8.11 today. This did not happen before as i frequently did same things before by connecting via steamlink from PC while deck is in desktop mode.

NOTE: many people are facing this issue. check this thread in steam communit discussions:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1675200/discussions/0/565912662235476779/

Steps for reproducing this issue:

Steps:

  1. deck -> switch to desktop mode
  2. Remoteplay connect via steamlink from PC (Windows 10) (steamlink latest version)
  3. open Konsole. the typing from PC keyboard is working fine. all is fine.
  4. copy something from anywhere and then paste in konsole ctrl + shift + v
  5. after that the ctrl key is stuck down as if its pressed constantly. for example in browser it pressing key will trigger the shortcut for that key , scroll up and down will zoom in out the page and in konsole itself forexample you open nano and then you can not type any alphabet which would trigger ctrl+ like x

and it is not with only remote keyboard . if i disconnect and use deskop virtual KB on deck it still behaves like ctrl key is pressed.

similarly it also happend with shift (dont know which triggered) but after that type was all caps all the time, even capslock does not have any effect.

workaround:
only restarting the deck resolves this . .

Research direction

Reproduce the issue in desktop mode by connecting through Steam Link Remote Play, opening Konsole, and using Ctrl+Shift+V; check whether Ctrl or Shift remains logically pressed afterward. Compare behavior on SteamOS v3.8.11 with the prior workflow described, and consider the desktop input-handling path. Done means modifier keys are released normally for both remote and on-device keyboards without requiring a restart.
