Description

System Hardware:

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650I AORUS ULTRA (AMD Socket AM5)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT

OS Version: SteamOS 3.x

Issue Description:
When attempting to put my PC to sleep/suspend—in both Game Mode and Desktop Mode—the system immediately wakes right back up within 1–2 seconds. (During troubleshooting, it also occasionally hung on a black screen requiring a hard reset, but the instant wake is the primary issue that always happens).

Context & Fix Tested on Bazzite:
I am a non-Linux expert. While using Bazzite, I found that adding the acpi_osi=!Windows 2015 parameter fixed this exact instant-wake issue on my motherboard and allowed clean sleep/wake cycles.

Why I Need Help on SteamOS:
On SteamOS, as soon as I attempt to apply the acpi_osi=!Windows 2015 boot fix and restart the computer, SteamOS automatically overwrites the configuration on reboot, so the instant-wake problem is constantly present.

Feature Request:
Could Valve consider adding a native fix or ACPI override for Gigabyte AM5 motherboards so sleep/suspend works out of the box on custom ITX builds without the system overwriting the necessary boot parameters on restart?

Research direction

No source file or test is named. Start by reproducing suspend and checking how SteamOS handles the acpi_osi=!Windows 2015 boot parameter across a restart, then compare that behavior with the reported Bazzite fix. Done means suspend and wake work reliably in both Game Mode and Desktop Mode without the configuration being overwritten.
