Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When I boot my device it takes a stupid amount of time to boot.
when I finally get into the OS, and run a systemd-analyze. I find out my Kernel har taken 42 minutes to boot
startup finished in 1min 29.515s (firmware) + 1.669s (loader) + 42min 49.413s (kernel) + 3.981s (userspace) = 44min 24.580s
graphical.target reached after 3.969s in userspace.

Steps for reproducing this issue:
  1. turn on power
  2. wait
  3. wait
  4. wait
  5. wait
  6. wait some more
  7. ????
  8. Success

Any clue/hints to what can be done about these boot times, would be greatly appreciated

Research direction

Start with the reported systemd-analyze timing: firmware, loader, kernel, and userspace. Reproduce the boot delay using the listed power-on steps, then collect the Steam logs with the command provided in the issue. Done means identifying the cause of the 42-minute kernel phase and documenting or fixing a reproducible solution.
