Symptoms
Certain in-game audio cues don't work, which makes it unplayable at certain points of the game.
Music works though. Rest of the game is also completely fine.
Reproduction
- Start the game
- Main menu is completely silent.
- Should have mechanical sound as it opens up, but it is silent.
Additional notes
Sound starts working when native directmusic verbs are installed: dmime, dmloader, dmsynth, dmusic, dsound, dswave.

Research direction
Reproduce Aura: Fate of the Ages with Proton 8.0-2 and inspect steam-65500.log, starting with the missing main-menu mechanical sound and other absent audio cues. Compare behavior with the listed native DirectMusic verbs installed; done means the affected in-game audio cues work without requiring those native verbs.
