Description

Compatibility Report

  • Resident Evil 2 Remake:
  • 883710:

System Information

  • GPU: RX 560
  • Driver/LLVM version: polaris11, LLVM 15.0.6, DRM 3.42, 5.15.0-67-generic
  • Kernel version: 5.15.0-67-generic
  • Link to full system information report as Gist:
  • Proton version: 7.0-6 & experimental

Symptoms

Pre-rendered citnematics, such as the opening one with the trucker don't work, instead I get a calibration screen as seen below:

20230408100358_1

with the bottom-right corner being white noise. This screen shows for a couple of seconds(I'd assume while the game is loading in the background) while playing the audio, then the game starts and in-engine cutscenes work without issues. I've tried adding wmp11 through protontricks but it didn't solve the issue.

Research direction

Start by reviewing steam-883710.log alongside the compatibility report, system information, and screenshot, then reproduce the opening pre-rendered cinematic with Proton 7.0-6 and Experimental. Done means the cinematic displays correctly instead of showing the calibration screen and white noise while preserving its audio.
