Description
In windowed games (or even full-screen, with two monitors,) pressing media keys on a keyboard will unlock the mouse cursor.
I've had this happen across a variety of games, on a few different engines (Halo infinite, which is custom; Ultrakill which is unity; and Outriders, which is unreal; just to name a few)
Tested on proton 7.0-6, experimental, and other assorted versions i can't remember (it's been a persistent issue)
This does not happen on native linux games, Superhot has both and this issue only happens on the windows version
here's a demo video to show the issue:

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in a windowed or dual-monitor Windows game using the listed Proton versions, then compare media-key behavior with a native Linux game. Use the linked video and the examples in the report to define the expected result: media keys must not release the captured mouse cursor.
