Symptoms

On Native version: game crashes upon entering the hatch in the snow storm after completing the tutorial, apparently because of some outdated lib files.
On Proton: game runs great and doesn't crash at hatch. But in game the screen is completely black until you disable Post Processing Effects. But disableing PPE leads to the lighting not functioning anymore.

Reproduction

Launch game. Get past title screen.

Start by reproducing the report on SteamOS with Proton 7.0-6 and Experimental, then inspect steam-22180.log alongside the native crash at the hatch. Verify the black-screen behavior with Post Processing Effects enabled and the lighting behavior when it is disabled; done means the reported native and Proton compatibility problems are resolved or clearly narrowed down.
