Symptoms

The game can install dotnet35 and 45 through Soda, using Bottles on my system. However, this gives an unhandled exception: https://gist.github.com/orowith2os/f552749c2ccc8814bfdc5dec4fa21983
Normal Proton does not work, even with the protonfixes system. .NET does not install with Proton, for some unknown reason.

Reproduction

(for Bottles)

1. Install Bottles from Flathub
2. Install the Soda runner
3. Make a new bottle with the Soda runner, install dotnet35 and dotnet45
4. run Foundation.exe from the Halo Reach Mod Tools

(For Proton)
Need to try some more, will list here when I have logs and the like.

The other mod tools do work with a few fixes, which I've added to @GloriousEggroll's protonfixes fork

Start by reviewing the linked exception gist and system information report, then reproduce Foundation.exe with Bottles' Soda runner and dotnet35/dotnet45. Collect Proton logs for the listed Proton versions and compare the Bottles and Proton behavior. Done means the Halo Reach Mod Tools launch without the reported unhandled exception under the supported setup.
