Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid
  • Steam AppID of the game: 1110100

System Information

Steam Deck

  • Proton version: Proton 7.0-4

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

Story mode cinematics replaced with SMPTE color bars.

Reproduction

Run the game, enter and play through story mode.

Despite game being marked Steam Deck verified, story mode cinematics represented as color bars. Initial intro cinematic might be displayed correctly, but those which come further down the road aren't.

I see the specific issue was addressed here #5881 and cinematics indeed are working on my Linux Desktop, but not on Deck.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the issue on Steam Deck with Proton 7.0-4, then compare the later story-mode cinematics with the Linux desktop behavior and the related report in #5881. Done means the affected cinematics render normally instead of showing SMPTE color bars.
