Symptoms
Sounds are repeated in a loop endlessly.
There is button for that in the game but that has no effect if it is on or off: sounds are repeated.
Config also has option to stop voices when pressing a button, but that has no effect either.
Expectation is that sound sample for a line played once when the text is shown.
Reproduction
- start game
- play enough for a character voice to be played
- observe the sound looping

Research direction
Start by reproducing the report with Proton 7.0-3 or Experimental, then inspect the attached steam-1689910.log alongside the game's sound-loop behavior. Done means character voice samples play once when text appears and the game's sound and voice-stop controls work as expected.
