Symptoms
Error at startup, black background in the main menu and the game is totally black when in practice / playing.
Reproduction
Starting the game the message error: linking with uncompiled/unspecialized shader pops up. After clicking OK the game launches and i get to the start screen with a black background. Normally the background is you currently selected vehicle.
The game has issues with saving the display settings in fullscreen mode so it has to be put into windowed mode to change the resolution.
Going into practice the game loads in and the UI elements are visible but the screen remains black, audio works and the car is controllable.
Extra info
Around 2/3 years ago i created a protondb review where the game ran amazing. At the time I was on a Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU so maybe the game is borked on AMD cpu/gpu?
I also tested the game on the Steam deck but the same problems occurred.

Research direction
Start with the attached steam-934930.log and reproduce the startup shader error and black rendering using the listed Proton versions and AMD/Linux setup. No repository file or test is identified in the report; done means isolating the compatibility cause and confirming that the game menu and practice rendering work without the reported error.
