Description

I'm having an issue with audio in games run with Proton. I use an external audio interface, the M audio Fastrack C600, and I have sound in every other application, including native Linux games through steam, but I get no sound through Proton games.

If I connect a Focusrite Scarlett Solo that I have, I can set the audio device in the system settings to it and it works fine. To get my C600 working, I installed QasMixer and turned up the outputs I needed.

The C600 shows as an analogue output in the system settings, and shows this in lsusb

Bus 001 Device 007: ID 0763:2031 M-Audio Fast Track C600

I've just upgraded Pop OS 22.04 from a suggestion that Pipewire may solve the issue, but have had no luck.

I'm a bit of a Linux noob, so I don't know what other information might be needed, so please let me know what I need and how I can find it.

Research direction

No source file or test is named. Start by reproducing the missing audio with the M-Audio Fast Track C600 in a Proton game, comparing it with the working Focusrite setup, and collecting the requested system and audio details, including lsusb output. Done means Proton games produce audio through the C600.
