Symptoms
The game plays extremely well with the latest Proton Experimental (as of 5/15/2022). The starting movie plays, the audio and graphics are nearly perfect. I played the game for several hours with no issues, until I uncovered a special fishing spot for the first time. Then a helpful tutorial video pops up embedded into the game. This video does not display, but you instead get the broadcast bars.
Reproduction
Get to a point in the game with an embedded tutorial video that is not full screen, but within the game window.

Research direction
The report names no source file, test, or code entry point; start by reproducing the embedded tutorial-video failure with Proton Experimental and reviewing the attached screenshot. Done would require identifying the rendering problem and verifying that the in-game tutorial video displays correctly.
