  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Dune: Spice Wars
  • Steam AppID of the game: 1605220

System Information

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

steam-1605220.log

Symptoms

On amd GPU's the game goes full blue/purple screen when some buildings gets built using the OpenGL mode. This is with shadows set to medium or high. Does not happen when they are set to low. See first comment
The issue doesn't happen when you use the directx version with either dxvk or WINED3D.

It seems like a mesa issue so i have made one upstream

Reproduction

See mesa issue. Also for screenshots.

Research direction

Start with the linked Mesa issue, steam-1605220.log, and the compatibility report's system information. The report points to an OpenGL rendering problem on AMD GPUs but does not identify a Proton file or test to change; done would require a confirmed resolution or updated compatibility status.
