Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: INFRA
  • Steam AppID of the game: 251110

System Information

  • GPU: AMD AMD Custom GPU 0405 (vangogh, LLVM 13.0.0, DRM 3.45, 5.13.0-valve10.1-1-neptune-02144-g7fffaf925dfb)

  • Link to full system information report as Gist
  • Proton version: 7.0-1

It also happend on a second desktop system the last time I tried it there but that was one or two weeks ago, no clue if it would be reproducible right now

  • GPU: AMD AMD Radeon RX 580 Series (POLARIS10, DRM 3.42.0, 5.14.21-210.current, LLVM 13.0.0)
  • Driver/LLVM version: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 21.3.6
  • Kernel version: 5.14.21-210.current
  • Link to full system information report as Gist:
  • Proton version: 7.0-1

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

proton log contains the proton log for a run with "Memory Available" set to Medium and a run where it was set to High.

Symptoms

The game reproducible hangs when loading certain levels if the in-game video option "Memory Available" is set to Medium or High. I believe one of those is the default setting. When set to Low the game seems playable just fine.

Reproduction

First map where it's reproducible I believe was the third area right after entering the elevator down the dam. It also happens when loading most of the later maps.

Research direction

Start by reproducing INFRA (Steam AppID 251110) in Proton 7.0-1, loading the reported maps with Memory Available set to Medium and High. Inspect the attached infra.zip Proton log and compare it with the working Low setting; done means identifying and fixing the level-loading hang without regressing the playable configuration.
