Proton Log: steam-1496250.log
Symptoms
- There are notable frametime spikes well above the 30ms range (The game requires a hard lock of 60FPS to play without slowdown) during gameplay and during particle effects on the title screen.
- Video playback isn't present, and requires rapidly pressing the "Enter" key to get through to the title screen.
- 2D rendering of background elements requires an MSAA workaround (as listed in the DXVK repository's issues section for this game in particular) to display properly.
Reproduction
- Launch the game through Steam, making sure to have a frametime overlay enabled in the launch parameters for the game. Regarding the rendering issues on background elements, specifically take note of the introduction sequence, and the background on the options menu.

Research direction
Start by reproducing Mary Skelter 2 through Steam with a frametime overlay and review the attached steam-1496250.log. Compare the missing video, frametime spikes, and MSAA-related background rendering against the linked DXVK issue; done means identifying a reproducible compatibility cause and a concrete next step.
