Description
I tried running the demo to Virgo Versus The Zodiac and the game never actually opens when I click the run button. No errors appear, just nothing happens. I have to hit the stop button to close whatever was trying to open. The full game has a native Linux version but the demo doesn't so this is the easiest way for Linux gamers to try before buying. I used PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to get the following log:
I have checked whether there are updates for my system available and I am up to date

Research direction
Reproduce the Virgo Versus The Zodiac demo with Proton 7.0-1 on Linux and inspect the attached steam-1083660.log alongside the reported system information. Done means the demo opens from Steam's Run button without requiring Stop; the report does not identify a source file or test.
