The game does not crash/close whithout Steam VR running, but the screen stays black.

Reproduction

• install game
• start Steam VR
• hit play
• game will close without further notice.

Start by reviewing the compatibility report and the attached steam-1866950.log, then reproduce the demo with Steam VR using Proton experimental-7.0-20220228. Done means the Hubris demo starts successfully instead of closing or showing a black screen.
