Symptoms

Voice communication does not work. I cannot hear what people are saying. I don't know if other people can hear me talking.

When looking through settings it says "Vivox disabled". Click on the spanner icon on the far right, and the cog icon next to Voice Volume. Then look to the panel on the far right. Clicking Refresh VC doesn't help.

It does give me the option to set pulseaudio as my input and output so it seems to be detected.

I can hear all other sounds in the game.

Reproduction

Start SteamVR. Start Zenith. Try to talk to other users. Check the options for Vivox status.

Start by reviewing the attached system information report and steam-1403370.zip log, then reproduce the Vivox-disabled voice-communication failure with Proton Experimental using the listed SteamVR and Zenith steps. Done means identifying and resolving the compatibility cause so in-game voice communication works and the Vivox status is no longer disabled.
