Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues:AeternoBlade
  • Steam AppID of the game:1234120

System Information

  • GPU: [AMD/ATI] Vega 10 XL/XT [Radeon RX Vega 56/64] (rev c3)
  • Driver/LLVM version: Mesa 21.3.5
  • Kernel version: 5.16.4
  • Proton version:6.3-8

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

Parts of the level (terrain) is not rendering. Game has some platform-jumping elements so this becomes apparent quickly: you see background scenery instead of the forefront terrain where you are standing.

Problem occurs both with DXVK and with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1

Game logs that texture is not found (Maps/Stage1/Textures/Material__26) which does not exist in game directory: unknown if it should exist (or if it is something else).

Reproduction

  1. start game
  2. play game normally

Research direction

Start by reviewing the attached steam-1234120.log and reproducing the missing-terrain behavior with Proton 6.3-8, both with DXVK and PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1. Trace the missing Maps/Stage1/Textures/Material__26 reference and determine whether the rendering issue can be reproduced and resolved; done means the foreground terrain renders correctly during normal play.
