Symptoms
You can't connect to Online game anymore. Before last game update the game was working good. Now only thing working are the 'loot' menus to collect coins or spend them. But all of three online game modes are unreachable, after loading for a couple of seconds, it brings you back to the menu with an error message telling you No Internet Connection, please check your internet connection.
Joining on someone in the in game friend list doesn't work, same behavior.
Here is Proton log from a session where I tried to join an online game, got denied, and exited the game: steam-1273710.zip
Reproduction
Launch the game, click Play button in the menu, select a game mode and try to join an online session.

Research direction
Review the attached steam-1273710.zip Proton log alongside the reported Proton 6.3-8, kernel, and NVIDIA driver details. Reproduce the failure by launching King of Crabs and joining an online session; done means the online game modes and in-game friend joining work without the reported connection error.
