• Proton version: Tried a bunch, including experimental in latest steam. And latest GE-release. Also all the stuff that lutris suggests.

• that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

The game launcher starts but it will crash with a "general exception" when trying to start the actual game from the launcher.

Reproduction

Install steam through wine/lutris/use proton through steam. Install Conquerors blade through steam, launch it, the launcher will start. Download the game. Click on Play in the launcher to start the game and the game will not start.
If you start the "proven_ground_client.exe" manually it will start, however in chinese localization and without any steam integration.

I think a fix might be around the corner considering the international version of Conquerors blade with steamappid 835570 seems to work quite well.

Please let me know what i can do to assist developing a fix for this game.

Start by reviewing the linked Proton log and full system information report, then reproduce the failure through the Steam launcher with the reported Proton versions. Compare this with manually starting proven_ground_client.exe and the working international version noted in the report. Done means the game starts from the launcher without the general exception and retains Steam integration.
