Description
Compatibility Report
example Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
System Information
- GPU: GTX 1070 ti
- Driver/LLVM version: nividia 495.29
- Kernel version: 5.14.12-arch1-1-pds
- Link to full system information report as Gist: https://termbin.com/slyi
- Proton version: proton experimental
I confirm:
- that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
- that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.
Symptoms:
my desktop resolution is 3840 x 1080 (32:9). There are enough situations when i don't want to play fullscreen. Sometimes i want to play games but they don't support windowed mode (example game has been given). In this case virtual desktop works perfectly fine in most cases. But the following 2 things are currently broken -> a.) The XBOX Controller doesn't work. and b.) the overlay gets broken.
Reproduction
- use proton experimental
- play fullscreen -> controller works
- switch to virtual desktop -> protontricks 35130 vd=1600x900
- play -> controller doesn't work anymore

Research direction
The report names no source file, test, or entry point. Reproduce the issue with Proton Experimental, the listed game, and protontricks using vd=1600x900; compare fullscreen with virtual desktop mode. Done means the Xbox controller and overlay work in virtual desktop mode without regressing fullscreen behavior.
