Symptoms

• Game gets to a black screen when you select to start new game. Seems like a mfplat problem.

Reproduction

• Start the game.
• You'll get to the menu, which is a room with a TV that's interactable with a remote. After adjusting settings and everything, select start new game. The TV will suddenly change to a test pattern (this is due to the partial mfplat in current proton/wine) and then get completely black, and doesn't exit from there (waited 10 minutes).
