Symptoms
Game doesn't start in VR. Even in-game, when choosing the option "Enable VR", the game screen starts responding to headset motion, but still appears only in the flatscreen instead of inside the HMD.
Reproduction
- Start the game in VR mode, either by launching from SteamVR Home or from pressing the "Play" button on steam and choosing VR mode. The result is the same: it starts in the screen instead.
- For the record, what was done when recording this steam log:
- Called the game from within SteamVR Home
- Game started in pancake mode. In the menu, chose "Enable VR", confirmed with yes. Screen started to change according to headset motion but still in the monitor.
- Went through the menu and selected "Disable VR". The screen reset to a smaller resolution, it seems. Tried the option "Enable VR" again. Same thing.
- Then quit the game through its own menu.

Research direction
No source file or test is named. Start by reviewing steam-1140100.log and reproducing the report with Proton 6.3-6, SteamVR, and the listed system configuration. Done means the game launches in VR with its view displayed in the headset rather than only on the monitor.
