Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Mortal Shell
  • Steam AppID of the game: 1110910

System Information

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

Game is crashing my system. Haven't found a specific way to reproduce it, but today it crashed 3 times playing this. I've been playing TESO and GTAV too (And a bunch of games lately) and no problems with any of those.

SInce I see dome amdgpu error messages on the system journal, I have reported it on the AMD DRM Gitlab

Even if it's showing as a amdgpu crash. I've been playing others games with 0 problems during these last months. That's why I'm opening this report here.

Research direction

The report concerns Mortal Shell (Steam AppID 1110910) on Proton Experimental with an AMD 5700XT, Mesa 21.1.6, and kernel 5.13.10; start by reviewing the linked system information and AMDGPU issue. Reproduce the system crash and establish a consistent symptom or actionable cause, since no reproduction steps or Proton log are provided.
