Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: We went back
  • Steam AppID of the game: 1218250

System Information

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Proton log: steam-1218250.log.gz

Symptoms

The game is playable and can be finished, however there are some surfaces that seem to use videos through mfplat that get swapped with the test pattern:

  • the title/pause menu screen: we_went_back01
  • an in-game monitor screen:
    we_went_back02

Should probably need an entry in #1464 related tables.

Reproduction

  1. Use Steam Linux beta client
  2. Install and enable "Proton Experimental" for use in "We went back"
  3. Launch the game
  4. The start menu will be "normal" for a couple of seconds, then change to the test pattern

Research direction

Start by reviewing issue #1464 and its related tables, then inspect the attached Proton log for the mfplat video behavior. Reproduce the issue with Proton Experimental and the listed launch steps; done means the game's affected surfaces are represented in the appropriate compatibility data.
