Symptoms

1. VC++ Runtime installation fails after selecting 'Play Graven' at confirmation and attempting installation.

Error displays some hex address and 'Invalid ACL'; a link to a log is provided:

2. Color test card, then black screen after selecting 'D3D 11' at confirmation

Most recent attempt resulted in X becoming unstable, and required killing xinit

Reproduction

1a. Launch game
1b. Select 'Play Graven' and click 'PLAY'
1c. Click 'Yes' when asked to install VC++ Runtime

2a. Launch game
2b. Select 'D3D 11' and click 'PLAY'

Start with the VC++ installation error log and Steam log linked in the report, then follow the two reproduction paths for the runtime installer and D3D 11 launch. Done means the reported launch failures are reproduced and the compatibility behavior is corrected or clearly documented with updated logs.
