Symptoms

Full system crash. The screen literally goes black and the machine power cycles.

Reproduction

  1. Start the Project Warlock Demo (907740) using Protn 6.3-2
1b. Make sure that the system is heavily taxed: The crash occurs when I run the game at 'high quality' 1440p uncapped, but when I go down to 1080p capped, the game remains stable for the duration of the Demo.
  2. Enter the first combat arena and shoot some enemies
  3. The crash occurs within 5 minutes

Research direction

Start by reviewing steam-907740.log and the linked system information report, then reproduce the crash with Proton 6.3-2 using the listed high-quality 1440p settings. Compare it with the stable 1080p capped configuration; done means identifying the cause of the full system crash and confirming the game no longer power-cycles the system under the reported reproduction steps.
