Symptoms

Voice lines stop playing after awhile.

Game starts with some cut scenes and dialog, voice lines are present. Then the game proceeds with the tutorial dungeon which ends in more dialog. This time the voice lines are missing. Restarting the game and continuing playing brings back the voice lines until they disappear again.

The log above is from the 2nd tutorial dungeon and the missing dialog is at the end before I stopped the game.
In hindsight I should have clicked through a couple more dialog with missing voice lines to get more log out of it, I'll upload another log sometime later.

Reproduction

Just start the game and play.

It seems to be an issue for a long time now. There are a couple of reports with a variety of hardware on ProtonDB. The oldest report from 2 years ago mentions the missing voice lines as well.

Start by reviewing steam-931500.log and reproducing the issue with Proton experimental-5.13-20210107 on the reported system. Compare the logs from the initial voiced dialogue and the later silent dialogue; the issue is done when the cause is identified and voice lines remain available after progressing through the tutorial.
