Symptoms
When using Proton 5.0-9 this game works out of the box. No issues. But on Proton 5.13-1b it crashes at the startup phase. The crash is so severe that Gnome shell 3.38.1 crashes together with the game. The crash was observed both on Xorg and on Wayland.
This game has a standalone configuration tool that it launches before starting the game. This tool works as usual. After we click on its start button to launch the game that the crash happens.
Here is the Proton log file:
And this is the Gnome crash core dump:
atelier_ryza_gnome_crash_dump.txt
But as Arch Linux packages do not have debug symbols it may not be useful.
Reproduction
Just launch the game with Proton 5.13-1b

Research direction
Start by examining the attached Proton log archive and the Gnome crash dump, then reproduce the launch with Proton 5.13-1b and compare it with Proton 5.0-9, where the game works. Done means identifying and resolving the startup crash so the game launches without taking down Gnome Shell.
