Symptoms

Game installs fine, it's launcher also runs fine. Once you hit start, it hangs for a couple seconds, and then it crashes - steam just shows it's no longer playing. Without the game launcher, it just crashes after a couple seconds.

A workaround solution for now is to install mfc42 using winetricks:
WINEPREFIX="/home/<user>/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/910830/pfx" winetricks mfc42

With the workaround the game launches.

Will add more details on how the performance is when i get a chance.

Reproduction

Install the game, launch it, and press start on the game's launcher.

Start by reproducing the crash with Proton 5.0-9 or 4.11-13 using the launch steps in the report, then inspect steam-910830.log. Compare behavior with and without the documented mfc42 winetricks workaround; done means the game launches without that workaround and the compatibility change is verified.
