Symptoms

Finishing a race or hitting Esc to pause game in Glide mode won't show the menu. The menu does spawn and if you wiggle the mouse you can hear the different options getting highlighted, but it doesn't show. The only thing shown on screen is the game in a frozen state.

It works as intended with the software renderer but the game looks much worse.

Another issue is that the music doesn't play, despite the files being in MP3 format in the game folder.

Reproduction

  1. Start Powerslide
  2. Go to Options -> Graphics
  3. Change Driver to Glide2
  4. Start a race and press Esc after it loads in.

Research direction

Reproduce Powerslide 675970 with Proton 5.0-9, the Glide2 driver, and the listed steps; compare the frozen post-race or pause menu with the software renderer. Review the attached steam-675970.log and system information first. Done means the menu is visible and music plays under the reported configuration.
