Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode II
  • Steam AppID of the game: 203650

System Information

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

steam-203650.log

Symptoms

I can't run run the game because it requires a config file that is usually generated by the Launcher. When I try to save configuration in the Launcher, it crashes with the following exception:

System.Runtime.InteropServices.MarshalDirectiveException: Type System.ArgIterator which is passed to unmanaged code must have a StructLayout attribute.

Reproduction

  1. Run the Launcher ("Configure", the second option in the launch dialog)
  2. Press "Save settings and launch Sonic 4"

Research direction

Start by reproducing the failure through the Launcher's "Configure" option and review steam-203650.log alongside the reported MarshalDirectiveException. Done means the launcher saves its configuration and successfully starts Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode II through Proton.
