- Download DayZ (free weekend)
- Confirm steam play enabled
- Launch
- Observe popup error after install:

While the previous errors were indeed errors I don't believe they are related to DayZ rather how proton was being launched. DayZ does start but crashes while loading possibly still related to XAudio and ALSA.
Leaving this open for now.
