LogGist

Symptoms:

• Game will not play cutscenes, goes to a black screen.
• The game DOES run if it doesn't have to play the scenes. I have a save file that I'm able to load in to and play without issue. However, if I start a new game which has an intro cutscene, it will black screen and I'm not able to skip the scene. Force quit is the only way to exit the game.

Reproduction

• Start game and select empty save file from the save file menu.

Edit: Removed crash mention as it is no longer unique to this issue.

Start with the linked LogGist and reproduce the issue by launching a new game with Proton 4-11-8 on the reported system. Compare the cutscene failure with the save file that loads successfully; done means the introductory and other cutscenes no longer lead to a black screen and the game can be exited normally.
