Symptoms

Launcher crashes sometimes, generating a minidump. When the launcher doesn't crash, the game is never launched or will sometimes crash with the following line on r3dlog.txt:

Googling around reveals that this error is called STATUS_MFT_TOO_FRAGMENTED

Reproduction

1. Launch game
2. Click play on New Frontier

I also reported the bug to the game developers, but it'll probably be of no help because these guys are creating the same game with the same engine for almost 10 years.

Start by reproducing the launch sequence and reviewing the reported r3dlog.txt error alongside the Proton log and full system information report. Done would mean identifying and resolving the launcher or game-start failure so New Frontier launches without the reported error.
