Description

Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Killing Floor 2 SDK (tool)
  • Steam AppID of the game: 232150

System Information

  • GPU: GTX 1070
  • Driver/LLVM version: Nvidia 418.56
  • Kernel version: 4.15.0-38-lowlatency
  • Link to full system information report as Gist:
  • Proton version: 4.2-3

I confirm:

  • that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

Splash screen appears, some text displaying content its loading appears and then it just silently closes/crashes. Appears to use .NET

I have little hope of this ever actually running as the SDK is essentially a striped down version of UDK 3 (I think), but here's a thread for it regardless. Would love to be able to make some KF2 maps on Linux.

Reproduction

Install the SDK via the tools library in steam and run it.

Research direction

Review the linked steam-232150.log alongside the reported Proton 4.2-3 and system information; reproduce the issue by installing the SDK from Steam's tools library and running it. Done means determining whether the silent crash can be reproduced and documenting a confirmed compatibility result or actionable cause.
